We are excited to offer this IMA Leadership Academy workshop to you to earn up to 1.5 NASBA CPE.

Now more than ever we are being called to "Embrace Change", and your ability to adapt to change and thrive is what will keep you competitive in today’s market. Change is all around, learn how to process change, increase comprehension of change and its impact, detail the differences between transition and change, identify challenges to change and opportunities that follow it, and develop techniques to embrace change.


Learning Objectives:
After this session, you will be able to:

- Define change and its impact on individuals.
- Describe transition and its differences from change.
- Recognize why and when change is necessary.
- Explore common challenges and identify opportunities that arise with change.
- Outline techniques to embrace change.

Derek Fuzzell serves as the CFO of PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union in Washington, D.C. Derek was recognized by the Credit Union Executive Society as a Finalist for the 2017 Next Top Credit Union Executive competition for his work on educating employees of Credit Unions on how Business Strategy is derived from the disciplines Finance, Accounting, Risk, and Economics. Derek previously worked for Northwest Federal Credit Union and Navy Federal Credit Union in various leadership roles.

As an IMA member, Derek has served on the Global Board of Directors and has worked on both the Performance Oversight & Audit Committee and the Planning & Development Committee. Derek served as chair of the Investment Subcommittee for 2018-2019, chair of the Conference Program Committee for 2017-2018, and is currently serving as chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Derek is also the current president of the Nation’s Capital Chapter and a faculty member of the IMA Leadership Academy. Derek was the 2018 recipient of IMA’s Exemplary Young Professional Award.

Derek earned his MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) and his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Houston.

Ashley B. Gibson, CMA, CSCA, CPA is an Advisory Manager from the Houston, Texas office of Deloitte & Touche LLP, specifically in the Financial Risk, Transactions, & Restructuring practice. Ashley focuses on Controllership Services, providing solutions on financial integrity and Digital Controllership™ by leveraging various key enablers that result in improved and strategic decision-making as well as better visibility into talent, processes, systems, and governance. She provides guidance, advice, and recommendations to accounting, finance, and/or the Controllership functions to become more proficient, effective, and insightful.

Ashley graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BS in Accountancy (magna cum laude) and a Master of Accountancy with a concentration in Auditing & Accounting Information Systems. She also received her MBA from Texas A&M University.

Ashley is currently on IMA Global Board of Directors and serves as the chair of IMA’s Volunteer Leadership Committee. Her involvement within IMA dates back to 2007, when she was a student member. In addition to receiving two scholarships from IMA and SCMS, she was a 2015 recipient of IMA's Young Professional of the Year Award. Ashley was recently honored by being named the 2018-2019 Exemplary Board Member.
